Goals & Challenges
Porter Davis, while innovative in its products, has always worked in a very traditional way. Their way of working had people scattered across 8 sites, some 2hrs drive from each other.
People worked in cubicles, with managers in individual offices. Space was dull, uninspiring and a poor reflection of their aspirations. The executive team was very conflicted about a move to one location, because although they knew this would help with a siloed business, they knew this would mean a change in the way the work. After robust data collection and facilitated visioning, the executives came to the conclusion that they wanted to move to one location, and even more boldly, that they would go to 100% desk sharing and no executive offices in order to take less space, but make that space incredibly dynamic and compelling. Then began the challenging work of making the business ready for this move. Four work streams began in earnest: process improvement, IT, property, and people change. These changes, although people driven, will save the business A$100mil over the next 10 years.

Identified and worked with global stakeholders to determine how to best align the aspirational future of the business with its future workplace.
Researched cultural barriers across the organisation and made recommendations on new policies that would support a better way of working including new bonus and remuneration plans, flexible working policies and subsidised food programmes.
