Goals & Challenges

The firm were proud of tradition but alive to the influence of technological advancements in the legal industry and a growing sense that the current office arrangements were becoming disconnected with organisational aspirations. As such, from the outset Clayton Utz saw the need to critically evaluate their way of working and make evidence based decisions about their future. Strong cultural resistance to any alteration of way of working in contradiction with tradition and threaten perceived status symbols associated with space and having a personal office.

How We Helped

Research and Evidence: Our in depth data collection process and extensive research allowed us to critically evaluate Clayton Utz’s ways of working and interrogate the pros and cons for maintaining the status quo versus shifting ways of working. This evidence formed a robust business case providing senior partners and executives the means to make otherwise difficult decisions about the firm’s future.

Partner Buy In: Worked closely with Managing Partner to engage and align senior partners to a strategy focused on the future of the firm.
